Duties:
The executive assistant provides support and works closely with the chief justice for administration related matters. The incumbent works as a coordinator with the staff and justices. He/she provides help in legal documentation, management, and budget preparation activities.

The Courts administration service Canada is state owned federal department. It was established in 2003 under the court services act. It works under the ministry of justice and the attorney general of Canada.
The agency provides administration services to the federal appellate court, martial appeal court, and tax court.
These services allow consumers to present their dispute related matters to the court as well as empower the courts to solve matters fairly and efficiently.
The administrator is responsible to fulfill needs and ensuring public access to information data. The CA has the legal authority to supervise the management, staff, court facilities, and libraries.
The governor in the council has the authority to appoint the chief administrator for the time period of 5 years. In case the chief is not present or on leave, the Minister has the legal power to appoint any suitable person as a chief.
In such cases, the incumbent can work as chief administrator only for a time limit of 90 days. After that minister recommends a list of suitable candidates and the chief justice federal appeal court, tax court, and martial court appoint a new administrator.
